In return you will receive a sponsorship certificate and our newsletter of which there are 3 a year.

The sponsorship of one of our ‘pensioners’ can make an ideal gift for a Birthday/Christmas present especially for someone who can no longer have a cat or is a real cat lover.  The recipient will receive a yearly letter from the cat as well as a Birthday/Christmas card and a new sponsorship certificate.  If the gift is for a birthday please give the date.  If for a child please give their age.

Many of our ‘pensioners’ are looked after in large pens in the grounds.  Others roam freely returning to their heated places at night.

The photo at the top is of Garden Run, one of our family pens.  We have 10 large pens around what was a tennis court set in a lovely tranquil garden

It is our policy at Avon Cat Rescue, when we have the room, never to turn away any cat needing to be re-homed.  Because of this policy we often get a disproportionate number of elderly or feral cats.

Some of these cats get chosen but others are not so lucky.  Despite our best efforts, those who do not find homes become our permanent cats whom we refer to as our ‘pensioners’.

As of July 2011 we have

40+ ‘pensioners’

These cats are a tremendous drain on our resources and to help us support them we run a sponsorship scheme.  This scheme has been running since the 1980’s and is one of our lifelines.
