Marmite was at the Rescue for many months before he got his second chance.
When he came to the Rescue he was found to have FIV so could only be an indoor cat.
Here at the Rescue we do not put a healthy cat to sleep so Marmite became part of the life here until one day earlier this year (2010) he was chosen.  Read his story below.

MARMITE

'We have had Marmite for 2 months now, sp thought it would be nice to give you an update.
He is settling in very well and is proving to be an affectionate and playful boy.  He is still a bit nervous of people coming in the front door and normally hides under the bed, but is completely unfazed by everyday household noises.  He has even had a go at playing the piano!
He is very inquisitive and likes to know what is going on and what we are up to.  He's been into every cupboard, investigated every windowsill and worked out his best vantage points for watching the world go by.
Marmite absolutely loves to play.  His energy levels are amazing; he just keeps going and going until we are worn out.  He still loves his ping pong balls, but has a favourite bootlace which he carries round the house.  We also got him Da Bird; initially it scared him but after a gradual introduction, he now goes mad when we get it out, chasing it repeatedly through his crinkle tunnel, before falling asleep in his tunnel.'

'He also loves the TV and will sit and watch it, especially if there are cars whizzing around.  Even more strangely he likes to sleep on top of it.  It is just as well we don't have a flat screen!
We had him weighed and he came in at 7.5 kg.  He is now on a diet, but to be honest, he is really good with his food and only eats when he is hungry so it is easy to manage and with all the playing he is starting to look more trim..
Thank you for taking such good care of him.  He is such a lovely boy, who purrs the whole time and gets more confident by the day.'
A further update received  (July  2010): -

'Since I last wrote he has had another spurt in confidence and is becoming a right little character! He chirrups and talks the whole time, and definitely gets a bit sulky if he isn't the centre of attention. He is just a delight to have around.'
