It is our policy at Avon Cat Rescue, when we have the room, never to turn away any cat needing to be rehomed. Because of this policy we often end up with a disproportionate number of elderly or feral cats. Some of these do get chosen but others are not so lucky. Despite our best efforts, those that are not chosen become our permanent cats, whom we then refer to as our pensioners.
As of the August 2008 we have 50+ pensioners.
These cats are a tremendous drain on our resources and to enable us to support them we run a sponsorship scheme. This scheme has been running since the late 1980’s and is one of our lifelines.
Sponsorship of one of our pensioners can often make a good Birthday or Christmas present for a child or someone who can no longer have a cat. If the sponsorship is taken out as a gift, the recipient will receive both a Christmas and Birthday card from the cat, as well as a yearly update. (Birthday date and age if for a child please)
Your £18 will go towards the feeding and care of your chosen cat, and is greatly appreciated.
If you are able to help us in this way, please select one of the cats below and send your name, address, name of cat and cheque for £18 (made payable to Avon Cat Rescue) to:

If so please get in touch with me at the address below. Remember it costs just £18 to sponsor one of these cats for a year. Your support of our work will be greatly appreciated. In return you will receive a photo and known details of your chosen cat as well as 3 newsletters each year which keep you in touch with what we are doing.
